Whataburger - Big Spring
Whataburger
Description
Whataburger presents a mixed dining experience marked by inconsistent food quality and service. Diners often receive cold burgers and lengthy wait times, exacerbated by disorganization among staff. While some have enjoyed fresh offerings, especially during breakfast hours, the experience can vary significantly during busier times. Nevertheless, many patrons appreciate the friendly service and encourage the use of their loyalty app for rewards. Despite the scrappy execution, the potential for delicious meals like crispy onion rings exists. Overall, while promising, Whataburger requires improvements to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and dining pleasure.

This location is incredibly disappointing. I really dislike how their drive-thru is designed so you can’t leave after waiting forever for your order, even when it’s not busy. When you finally reach the window, you often find out they messed up your meal despite clearly repeating your order over the intercom. I usually enjoy Whataburger when I’m in Texas, but this particular spot has consistently let me down. I expected little, and it still managed to disappoint. Unbelievable.
After taking our order to the car, we noticed the chicken was missing from the chicken basket. On top of that, there were no straws, napkins, or other essentials included. I saw two managers or team leaders who were unhelpful—one went out to her car and came back without saying a word, while the other briefly stepped out of the office and then went back inside. Despite having many employees on site, along with eight cars in the drive-thru and four customers eating inside, the service was extremely slow. It was confusing to see so many staff members yet still face such poor efficiency. I would strongly recommend avoiding this Whataburger location.
I ordered three number one meals to go, and it took at least 35 minutes for my order to be ready. When I inquired about it, an employee apologized and said they were very busy. However, I noticed that there were only three diners ahead of me, and they had ordered three burgers and three fries, which made the wait seem excessive. Once I got home, I discovered that my fries were overcooked and hard, and the burgers were cold. I paid $28 for this? Additionally, while I was waiting, I overheard the manager taking an order for 105 chicken strip dinners, which gave the impression that they were prioritizing that order over mine and others. Even though I heard at least 15 orders called before mine, I really couldn’t understand how the service could be this poor.
I had my first experience at Whataburger, and it didn't quite meet my expectations. The burger was dry and a bit too salty for my taste. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, including the young woman at the register and the gentleman who delivered our food.
The staff was polite but unfortunately quite disorganized, which resulted in a 25-minute wait for our food. It turned out that our order had been sitting on the counter for most of that time while we stood just 20 feet away waiting. The floors and one corner table were not very clean, though the rest of the area was tidy and the tables had been wiped down. The wait time was accurately reflected: we ordered at 2248 and received our food at 2213.
