The coffee from the w60 was very delicious and well prepared. the toast with avocado was in order, but the avocado would have worn more sharply. the service was super friendly, but some confession.
I ordered af pour over from Tim Wendelboe, a washed catuai from Honduras. I have been to many, many specialty coffee shops all over europe, and this brew was easily in my top 10, perhaps even top 5, of the best coffees I've been served. Well done! And the barista was kind enough to share her recipe, thanks. Even though Berlin has a lot to offer if specialty coffee is what your looking for, I will be comming back to this place every time I'm in town, that's for sure.
Very good coffee, quality snacks for various tastes, all in a cosy, friendly ambiance. Great stop for a break in Berlin
I recently visited the Refinery and ordered a Latte Macchiato from their menu when the coffee was delivered, it was a Cafe Latte (no layering of coffee and milk, milk completely mixed with the coffee). When I told the barista that this was not what I had ordered, they told me this was ' the bosses recipe ' for Latte Macchiato they were following. After some arguments that included the staff refusing to give me my money back as they were unable to supply the item I had ordered, they suddenly claimed they could produce a Latte Macchiato, whereupon I was served another Cafe Latte that had so little coffee in it it looked yellow and was still refused to be given my money back as this was apparently how the boss has taught them to make a Late Macchiato. For a shop that calls itself a specialty 'high end ' coffee shop in a country where Latte Macchiato is not only popular, but also widely sold, this is extremely disappointing, not to mention the poor service. Cannot recommend this place, and certainly won 't go there again.
