Very good coffee, quality snacks for various tastes, all in a cosy, friendly ambiance. Great stop for a break in Berlin
I recently visited the Refinery and ordered a Latte Macchiato from their menu when the coffee was delivered, it was a Cafe Latte (no layering of coffee and milk, milk completely mixed with the coffee). When I told the barista that this was not what I had ordered, they told me this was ' the bosses recipe ' for Latte Macchiato they were following. After some arguments that included the staff refusing to give me my money back as they were unable to supply the item I had ordered, they suddenly claimed they could produce a Latte Macchiato, whereupon I was served another Cafe Latte that had so little coffee in it it looked yellow and was still refused to be given my money back as this was apparently how the boss has taught them to make a Late Macchiato. For a shop that calls itself a specialty 'high end ' coffee shop in a country where Latte Macchiato is not only popular, but also widely sold, this is extremely disappointing, not to mention the poor service. Cannot recommend this place, and certainly won 't go there again.
I recently visited this café and had mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the café itself is quite nice, and they offer a great variety of options on their menu. The quality of the food was generally good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, I encountered a serious issue that was very frustrating. I ordered the Four-Cheese Quiche, which was not marked as containing meat. As a vegetarian, I was shocked to find salami inside the quiche after taking a bite. For someone who doesn't eat meat, this is a major oversight. It’s incredibly important for ingredients like this to be clearly labeled to avoid such mistakes. It really ruined the meal for me, despite the rest of the food being tasty. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their labeling, as I would have loved to enjoy the wide selection they offer without having to worry about hidden ingredients.

Only go for the coffee The food and service are otherwise pretty bland. We had breakfast/brunch and it was all just basic and a bit underwhelming. The bread and pastry was overall pretty dry. There were a lot of wasps too, since we visited in July, and sat outside. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection
The coffee is definitely high quality. However, the cashier needs a better attitude the barista needs to listen to what the customer wants and not burn the milk! Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: €1–10 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

Good coffee but below average cinnamon roll (way too bready and not enough cinnamon flavour) chai latte (which is basically hot milk)… Would recommend just sticking to their coffee
Best cold brew I have had in a while (served with a cute glass straw) — highly recommend. Nice atmosphere, very clean Came for breakfast But they don’t have hot breakfast right now so I had a pastry which was also good.
Stylish interior, wide variety of snacks (sweets, sweet cakes, quiche and other salty pies, etc. , good service and above all else, really good filtered coffee. New York cheesecake is a bit too much pudding-ish, but nutty bar (half-covered by chocolate is really good.
I would put this place in the top 5 coffee places in Berlin. Nice selection of pastries, limited seating is available.
Good quality coffee and pastries. I've frequented the establishment quite a few times. However, on my most recent trip they've introduced a 10 euro minimum spend on card purchases, which seems customer unfriendly and backwards thinking in approach, and so I was forced to leave empty-handed as I had no cash on me.

The staff here was very friendly. Someone accidentally bumped into me when I was finding a spot, which caused me to spill some of my cappuccino. They immediately helped me clean up and even offered me a new one. Btw the cinnamon role was delicious. Thank you!
Very nice café with various coffee specialities. The sandwiches and cakes also taste very good. Absolutely recommended!
The best coffee in all of Berlin! Super friendly staff! Come more often by is easy to find.

Beautiful environment, very friendly. Coffee was great. Sandwich was very tasty. I recommend to visit ...
Came here for breakfast and loved it! The muesli, coffee and croissant were all good. Their brunch options looked better so I would want to try that out next time! Wish the iced coffee was double the size. Cute ambience and great service.
Stylish coffee place near Friedrichsstraße with good coffee, snacks and some food options. Perfect for a break. Staff is friendly. Has a bit of a hipster vibe, but not too much :
This is a great place to have a coffee, as one might really expect, given the great reviews of the Bean in all shapes and forms. As I discovered, though, you can also have a properly made tea, correctly brewed with water at the appropriate...temperature and not a bag in sight. I had a sencha that was a balm for the stressed soul. The people are nice, the room not exactly cozy but clean and functional. My husband had a sandwich, too, which is nice for those trying not to sugar out in the afternoon.
After spending all day cycling around Berlin all my husband and and I wanted was a hot cup of coffee. We came across Refinery by accident, and it caught our eye very quickly. Lovely place to have great coffee! They also do sandwiches and cakes....There are only 6 tables and one outside, but it is a very relaxed and lovely place to come across to. Right by the river and it’s reasonably priced.
