The restaurant advertises itself as Egyptian street food ; I am Egyptian and this food is nothing like Egyptian cuisine. The food tastes good though for someone who doesn 't know what it is supposed to taste like. The owner speaks Arabic (with an accent), but still doesn 't seem to know how to make Egyptian signature food. I tasted his reconstructed version of Om Ali and it is drowning in jam and gives you such a sugar rush which is nothing like the original dessert. Also: Food is NOT HALAL. Super expensive for street food The food portions are so small in comparison to the price you pay.

The owner speaks Arabic (with an accent), but still... don't seem to know how to make Egyptian signature food. I tasted his reconstructed version of Om Ali and it drowns in Marmelade and gives you such a sugar brush that is nothing like the original dessert. Also: Food is NOT HALAL. Super expensive for street food The food portions are so small compared to the price you pay.

My first night in Berlin after 2 long flights. Perfect place. Non-tourist neighborhood food. About six tables. Egyptian/Arab. Beautiful watermelon, feta and chili oil salad and fantastic lental soup. I was looking for a light meal, but of course they offer more important entrees.

It's a place with almost perfect food. The flavors are amazing and the food is not expensive. In would recommend ordering Teo dishes as they are rather small.

WOW. I never had Egypt scattered food, but this is a MUST when you are in Berlin!! We just stumbled about going to another restaurant for dinner. It was such a lively little place, and so cheap!!! It's vegetarian, I'm far from it. But meat lovers... let it go! My partner did it and he had seconds!! I had the Koshary, my partner had the Fatta Hummus and we also got the homemade dips; Sahaweq/Zhoug. SUPERB. I wish we had more time to come to dinner tomorrow night. We'll be back. Until next time KLX.
