I chose the Ragout of venison from Brandenburg, and it was truly outstanding—one of the best regional dishes I've had. • The venison ragout was incredibly rich, tender, and deeply flavorful. The meat simply melted in my mouth, and the sauce (braised with mushrooms and served perhaps with the advertised cranberry sour cream) was complex and perfectly seasoned. • The accompaniment of German Bread Dumplings (Brotknödel) was the ideal partner for soaking up the magnificent sauce.
