The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it's probably wise to make a reservation for dinner. However, we decided to walk in on a Friday night around 8:45 and had no trouble getting a table. The service was friendly and the menu, while not extensive, offered some interesting dishes with a North African influence. The food we sampled was well-seasoned and delicious. The prices are a bit high considering the portion sizes, but can be overlooked due to the high quality of the dishes prepared in the kitchen.
We were thrilled to discover Zatar. We booked it for a rehearsal dinner and found it to be intimate and charming. The food is authentic and delicious! Zatar is a family-owned restaurant and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. It was an amazing night with a fantastic meal. When we come back to Berkeley, this will be our top choice for dining as we want to try every dish on the menu. I highly recommend Zatar, you won't be disappointed.
