What Anonym dislikes about Zatar:

While the food was good, I felt the owners are not treating this as serious business. Like not taking credit cards and not accepting reservations on Open table, indicates an air of casualness. There are better places. Give it a miss. View all feedback.

The restaurant is pretty small, so reservations are probably wise for dinner. Nevertheless we showed up late (8:45) on a Friday and had no trouble getting a table. Friendly service, and a menu that's not large but filled with interesting items with a North-African flair. The food we tried was delicately spiced, appetizers in particular. Prices are a bit on the high side given the size of the portions but can be forgiven given the quality of the cuisine.

We were very fortunate to have found Zatar. We rented it for a wedding rehearsal dinner and found it to be intimate and charming. The food is authentic, and a delight to the palette! Zatar is a family owned restaurant and they couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. What a night! What a meal. This is as good as it gets! Whenever we return to Berkeley, this will be our first place to dine as we intend to try every dish on the menu. I highly recommend Zatar you won't be disappointed

Love that they use organic everything here, and the food is definitely good here. They also offer catering, but i haven 't actually used that service. Zatar was voted Best Middle Eastern and Best Mediterranean Restaurant by Bay Area A List voters in 2014.

Excellent Mediterranean food, some of the best I've had in the Bay Area. I was there for lunch and had a vegetarian dish that was really tasty. Nicely spiced and carefully prepared. I suspect the dinners are also great.
