Reviews - La Marcha
Reviews summary
The restaurant offers delicious tapas, but the paella needs to be avoided due to oversalting. The service was lacking with kitchen errors and long wait times, especially on special occasions like birthdays. Additionally, the seating arrangements felt overcrowded and unhealthy, especially post-COVID. While the food was decent, it didn't quite match the price point for some diners. On the upside, the outdoor patio was a highlight for a date night. Overall, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes, with standouts like the vegan paella, squid appetizers, and sangria. Reservations are recommended, and the cozy ambiance makes it a great spot for an intimate dinner or date night experience.
Was Maria Kamilli at La Marcha a mag?
Food was great imaginative Caesar salad with a totally different dressing, and delicious croquetas. The only not so delicious was the white sangria, which was quite lime y and not very wine y. Worth a return visit! View all feedback.
What Jessica Betschart dislikes about La Marcha:
Carolina did an amazing job with her service and excellent attitude. Only recommendation is that local beer and wine lists were not updated or we can say they ran out of the most wanted beer and wine. View all feedback.

They gave us a seriously SMALL of calamari which was undercooked btw. For $15 for barely enough for one person, I expected more, not to mention the aoli which seemed like it gone bad. This isn’t the first time it happened for take out.
Amazing, the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The service is great and the employees are very kind and welcoming. The prices are not too expensive and are a great value for the quality. Highly recommended
Irresponsible and unreliable takeout. Mixed up my order with someone else's order, which I promptly refused

Amazing tapas and a great wine selection! Come here for a culinary adventure with someone you’re hoping to have a long and delicious dinner with. The service was a bit slow but kind, and hey, we weren’t rushed. Everything was delicious-seriously, you can’t go wrong! The vegan paella was a stand out for us plant lovers.
A great tapas spot with many tasty options. We really enjoyed the albondigas, chicken and mushroom croquetas, pulpo, stuffed piquillo peppers, and the churros with chocolate.
Wowww. E was right. Tapas are SO GOOD!! I'm used to Asian food this was such a cool experience. The servers were all super cool, too. Great vibes here. Highly rec the white Sangria, too
Got the restaurant week special for $40/person which came with a salad, lobster croquettes, beef tartare, and a duck sausage paella. The paella was more oily and not as crispy as I would’ve liked. The beef and the croquettes were my favorites.

Phenomenal !!!! Best tapas experience. Every bite is the best bite you will eat. Our server Sitome was charming and upbeat. Small and squished seating with an open airy feeling. You might wait an hour to get seated, if you don’t make a reservation, but totally worth the wait if your up for a spontaneous food adventure.
So they have these little nuggets of joy that you get to try free during happy hour. I had three for our table and I would have ordered a full size portion of any one of them. Perfect way to sample the menu. I had the seafood paella and it was amazing. I am very eager to go back and check out the rest of the menu. Nice wine list and cool decor. Yum!
Off hours Opening for lunch during the World Cup playoffs Spain Vs Iran. The room lit up when Spain scored it's first goal, about thirty sports fans filled the room cheering for Spain. Paella was the only food being served, they had sea food paella or vegetarian paella. Went down well with an ice cold brew.
Don't even know where to begin. We had an assortment of tapas, favorites were the leaks, brussel sprouts w/ grapes, albondigas, ribs, potatoes bravas, fried calamari, and the mushroom croquetas. Everything was cooked to perfection, the sauces were delicious, and the sangria was refreshing. Of course the paella mixtape was amazing, can't wait to go back and try the all pork paella. The atmosphere is very beautiful and comfortable and the staff is super friendly and very helpful with helping pick from the menu. Easily one of my best dining experience in the Bay Area!

Cozy tapas bar in Berkeley with small plates and paella. We shared 5 small plates between two people and were satisfied. Out of the 5 dishes I recommend the boar meatballs and mushroom croquetas. The food was pretty good but not as delicious or interesting as we were hoping for. We made a reservation for bar seating and had plenty of space for multiple plates and were not too close to others.
Tapas are good. But the paella is to be avoided the saltiest I have had in my long life. Even got a headache from the salt? Unfortunately the kitchen forgot to make my paella, and the waitress only realized that One hour after we had ordered, which meant we had to wait another 45 minutes to eat. All of that on the night we went out to celebrate my birthday, so you can imagine how disappointed I felt other than the tardiness and the paella not being one to go there for, the other issue is that they are back to putting their tables super close to each other (less than 15 inches separated us from the other tables to our right and left): I know this is not just them, but every restaurant in the area, and it feels horrible, overcrowded, and, after having lived through COVID, extremely unhealthy.
Had been craving decent Spanish food for a while and finally checked this one off from my list! The calamares (fried squid) with special sauce (the one in black) and Mariners are amazing. As a group of three, we were pretty full and satisfied with three appetizers and one paella. Highly recommend to make reservations, we were lucky to get the bar seats without booking in advance.
It was ok, food wasn't worth the price. The portion size was good, but taste wasn't all that. I wasn't pleasantly pleased! ? however, the outside patio was great for date night?

If you are looking for real Spanish food stay away from La Marcha. First of all we had a reservation and the table wasn't ready and we had to wait 15 min
Cozy decor, small bites, great wine/sherry, and good vibes makes La Marcha a wonderful tapas spot in Berkeley! Looking for a light meal, we came here for

This was a great little gem that hits the spot! All the food we ordered was delicious seafood paella, croquet, the shrimp were the top favorite. The flavor was spot on, and it was very well seasoned and balanced. The paella has a nice crispy Socarrat layer but wished it had more. The calamari was good and fresh (as is everything else) but we wish there was a bit more crispness. The drinks were also nice and refreshing. Only wished the old fashioned had a large ice cube, but no biggy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this little gem and would definitely come back if we’re in the hood Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
