La Marcha - Berkeley
La Marcha
Description
The restaurant offers delicious tapas, but the paella needs to be avoided due to oversalting. The service was lacking with kitchen errors and long wait times, especially on special occasions like birthdays. Additionally, the seating arrangements felt overcrowded and unhealthy, especially post-COVID. While the food was decent, it didn't quite match the price point for some diners. On the upside, the outdoor patio was a highlight for a date night. Overall, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes, with standouts like the vegan paella, squid appetizers, and sangria. Reservations are recommended, and the cozy ambiance makes it a great spot for an intimate dinner or date night experience.

If you are looking for real Spanish food stay away from La Marcha. First of all we had a reservation and the table wasn't ready and we had to wait 15 min
Cozy decor, small bites, great wine/sherry, and good vibes makes La Marcha a wonderful tapas spot in Berkeley! Looking for a light meal, we came here for
They gave us a seriously SMALL of calamari which was undercooked btw. For $15 for barely enough for one person, I expected more, not to mention the aoli which seemed like it gone bad. This isn’t the first time it happened for take out.
This was a great little gem that hits the spot! All the food we ordered was delicious seafood paella, croquet, the shrimp were the top favorite. The flavor was spot on, and it was very well seasoned and balanced. The paella has a nice crispy Socarrat layer but wished it had more. The calamari was good and fresh (as is everything else) but we wish there was a bit more crispness. The drinks were also nice and refreshing. Only wished the old fashioned had a large ice cube, but no biggy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this little gem and would definitely come back if we’re in the hood Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
