We had a lovely lunch on Friday, where he had fish and chips and I opted for fish tacos. Everything was quite good. The restaurant was a little chilly inside, but that’s understandable given the circumstances. The service was quick, and our server was very friendly. Next time, I’m thinking about trying the pizza, chicken sandwich, or Ahi salad. View all feedback.

I have salads for tonight... The prosciutto melon of Mom was good, but my steak salad was 90% mixed green, decent steak ingredients... half the mushroom and barely onions, tomatoes or cheese. Why? That was the most rotten salad I've ever seen. It could have been so good. View all feedback.
I arrived at the restaurant extremely hungry, but unfortunately, I left feeling quite disappointed. The "Crispy Chicken Sandwich" was served cold, soggy, and definitely not crispy at all. The tortilla chips were stale, and the Spinach Artichoke dip lacked any real flavor. Additionally, our table hadn't been cleaned when we sat down. To make matters worse, they added an automatic gratuity of 20% for our group of five without informing us in advance, which resulted in us unintentionally tipping extra. While I understand that serving five people can be challenging for some restaurants, it would have been helpful to be made aware of the automatic fees beforehand—especially before charging our cards.
A great restaurant on College Ave! If you want a filling and quality, casual meal, this is the spot. Great selection of local beer on tap, a wood fire pizza oven, tons of delicious burger options, and overall a quality menu. I had the special, the lamb burger, and the favors were delicious. The burger was a little overdone for my taste, but rather that than the opposite for lamb. Side salad was delicious too. The wood burger was also really tasty especially with the smoked Gouda. Fries were pretty good, but a little “floppy” for our taste. Definitely high quality potatoes though, so had no problem finishing them. We’ll be back for the pizza because that also looked good, and the outdoor patio area was lovely to sit outside and enjoy. The owner happened to be there and was really nice, offered to turn on the heaters as it got cooler. Amazing service here, very attentive. Also, I bet brunch here would be a great time too. The menu looked really good!
Comfortable, affordable, casual dining. My sister and husband were in Hayward with his family, we needed a halfway place from Petaluma to meet up for dinner. I chose Berkeley, came up with In The Wood perfect for our needs and wants! Yummy food, friendly server. Would surely recommend it if you're in the area.
I don't think I've ever had such a bland pizza. No flavor. The crust was great. I normally don't use crushed red pepper. But, I needed some kind of flavor. The beet salad was great as well as the beer. Just totally surprised by a place that considers pizzas one of their specialties to be such a disappointment.Vegetarian options: Quite a few options. Pleased by that.
What can I say, everything was delicious ?. Waitress very nice, respectful, I recommend this place and definitely will be back.
