I appreciate that this restaurant offers a vegan option, however I have found that it can be inconsistent. While my wife really enjoys it, I personally think it's just average and opinions from others who have tried it vary greatly. The wait can be quite long, so it's best to inform them ahead of time if you'd like a vegan pizza. Despite these issues, it's worth noting that this establishment is a worker-owner Co-op, and I will continue to support them even though they could improve their service for vegan customers.
I absolutely adore this restaurant for serving the most amazing vegan pizza ever! They use Butcher's Son cheese, which complements their pizzas perfectly. Even non-vegans who have tried their vegan pizza say they can't even tell the difference. I recommend trying it with a bit of their green salsa for an added kick! I am already looking forward to my next visit here.
The Scones are my favorite, but many good breads. The pizzas are good, but I wish they would go a little easier on the cheese!
So happy Cheeseboard began offering vegan cheese. They were my favorite pizza place before going vegan and now I can enjoy them again. The house made (by the Butcher's Son) cheese that they use melts really well and has a good flavor. Of the vegan pizzas I've has so far it's the best.

The breads at this restaurant are also delicious, especially the olive focaccia bread.
I absolutely adore this pizza place where they only serve one type of pizza each day, with a focus on vegetarian options. It may seem strange, but it somehow works, especially in a place like Berkeley where unconventional ideas thrive. Since moving to the southern Bay Area, I find myself yearning for the days when I could easily grab a slice of their delicious pizza. This is not your average chain pizza; it's a unique, handcrafted creation with unusual yet delicious toppings that come together perfectly. Whenever someone I know goes back to Berkeley, I always ask them to bring me a half-baked pizza so I can finish baking it at home and enjoy the incredible flavors.
Looking for authentic pizza? Domino's and Pizza Hut just won't do. When it comes to a unique pizza experience, Cheeseboard has you covered. They offer a thin crust pizza made with high-quality cheese from next door. The menu constantly changes, so you never know what you'll get. The only downside is the price - $18 for a thin crust pizza can feel steep. However, the lively atmosphere with occasional live bands and a view of Shattuck Ave make it a fun experience. If you're in the mood for a light and flavorful pizza, skip the chains and head to Cheeseboard.
In which I love you. Who would have thought that a pizza place that only served a kind of pizza a day (vegetarian about it) would work in some strange hours? Maybe it only works because it's Berkeley and all sorts of crazy things work in Berkeley. Now that I'm in the southern bay, I find myself longing for these days when I could just grab a cheeseboard for a piece of pizza this day. Your pizza is not your standard Little Caesars/Dominos/Pizza hat type pizza. It is a handcrafted kind of pizza, where it is only layered with possibly strange seeming ingredients that somehow work well together. Whenever I know someone who goes back to Berkeley, I ask her to bring me a half-baked pizza, so I can bake it in my oven and the wonderful cheese table.
