Caffe Chiave - Berkeley
Caffe Chiave
Description
Caffe Chiave presents a charming atmosphere with ample seating and a delightful selection of baked goods. Many patrons rave about the fantastic coffee and scrumptious breakfast sandwiches, particularly appreciating the vibrant outdoor space. However, experiences vary; some coffee drinks have been criticized for their overwhelming sweetness or overly hot temperatures. Service is described as friendly yet occasionally slow, and parking may pose a challenge. Overall, while the cafe shines in its offerings and cozy vibe, inconsistencies in beverage quality and service may affect repeat visits. A spot worth trying, especially for those nearby, but manage expectations.

I was getting my car serviced just a few blocks away and decided to stop by for a mocha while enjoying the sunshine at one of their tables. The coffee was excellent! If I'm in the area and in the mood for coffee, I would definitely return here.

Located on a retail strip known as the Left Bank in a neighborhood known as the Poet’s Corner (because the streets named for poets include Bonar, Browning, Byron, Chaucer, Cowper, Edwards, and Poe), this coffeehouse was once a branch of San Francisco’s famous North Beach Caffe Trieste. A family feud brought on the name change.
