We had a pleasant dinner last night with our family. The space was clean and the service, particularly from Andy, was outstanding. The food, prepared by Chef Richi Gary, was more than excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you for a great dining experience. View all feedback.
What Andy Blonde dislikes about Hatch:
I dined at this restaurant this evening with my daughter and grandson and ordered the chicken and ham hock pie, the steak and ale pie, and a child's burger with vegetables. I hadn't eaten here in several years, and to be honest, I won't be coming back! The service was good, but the food was awful. The steak and ale pie contained only a single piece of meat; the rest seemed like bits of minced meat and was mostly just... View all feedback.

When visiting my relatives in Basingstoke, I find the Hatch the best place for a good meal in good surroundings. It's very popular and worth booking in advance. Then there's still the problem of finding a parking space when you get there! The menu is varied and I have no difficulty in trying something new there, should I wish to. Meals are of very good quality and usually delicious. I've always found the staff here very friendly and totally efficient. The Hatch has beautiful gardens and outdoor seating should the weather be good enough. Highly recommended. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Camembert
A lovely visit for Christmas drinks and meal. Loved the menu and wide specrum of drinks. Excellent service and quality of food was acceptable although the traditional Christmas Turkey mean was not perfect. The startes were excellent. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had Sunday roast and not worth the money at all. Will never go for a roast here again. Had the roast duo which is beef and pork. Well there was no pork at all, just 2 pieces of fat, no meat on there at all. Then a tiny slice of beef. My friend had the half chicken and she certainly got her moneys worth. So if you go for Sunday roast only order the chicken!! Thanks for response about the pork belly but it literally was fat and no meat at all. Hence my comment. For the price would have been nice to have more than a small slice of beef and 2 lots of fat that you couldn't eat. Unfortunately had much better elsewhere. But like I said the chicken looked huge and worth the value. The staff was courteous as soon as we entered. I had the chicken pie, which was excellent, and the sea bass with scallops, which was also delicious. I will definitely be coming back!

The meal was excellent, as always, though we did have to wait a little while. Our waitress was friendly and pleasant, which made the experience even better.

Came here for a late lunch today. It's a lovely pub with friendly staff. There is a dog friendly area too. I was extremely impressed with the chicken BLT and the salted caramel sundae was amazing too! Thanks very much for the experience. Will be back when I'm next in the area!
Wonderful meal with a fantastic menu. something for all very friendly staff that really cared for us. would return there again.
Had a beautiful meal here today with parents. Lovely pub, light and airy with mirrors on walls that reflect light, however remaining cosy with log fires. I'm vegetarian and enjoyed a fantastic mushroom and ale pie with vegan chips and gravy. Garden peas were cooked just right, lovely and sweet. Pie was packed and tasted amazing. This was from the lunch menu for under £10. Staff very friendly, served by a lovely waitress, Kirsty who was very attentive and helpful. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu.
Came here with my friend and my dog for a late lunch. Staff were very welcoming and polite and the food was delicious. Will be visiting again when I’m next in the area.
