It's very popular and worth booking in advance.... read more When visiting my relatives in Basingstoke, I find the Hatch the best place for a good meal in good surroundings. It's very popular and worth booking in advance. Then there's still the problem of finding a parking space when you get there! The menu is varied and I have no difficulty in trying something new there, should I wish to. Meals are of very good quality and usually delicious. I've always found the staff here very friendly and totally efficient. The Hatch has beautiful gardens and outdoor seating should the weather be good enough. Highly recommended. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Camembert
