Reviews - The Lime Leaf
Reviews summary
The Lime Leaf is a busy, down-to-earth Thai spot that wins praise for strong flavours, generous seafood dishes and good value. Many diners celebrate the quality of the curries and seafood platters, and regulars describe friendly, polite front-of-house staff. However, service can be inconsistent on peak nights: guests report long waits for mains, rushed ordering at the bar and occasional reservation problems. The layout includes a small upstairs room that can be noisy when full, and a few diners note portions and collection discounts have changed recently. Overall The Lime Leaf is loved for its food but can be hit-or-miss on service and seating comfort.

Dropped in yesterday for a snack and ordered the prawns and pork with crispy seaweed. Very nice, and friendly service. Also had the mixed ice cream (coconut, ginger, chocolate) plus the Thai coffee, which I enjoyed also...
I'm not normally a fan of Thai food, however, whenever I'm in Basingstoke for work, I always end up here! Reasonably priced, fantastic flavour and good sized portions. Excellent!
Great spot, not too expensive and decent Thai food. Easy bosh and decent option in Basingstoke. The chicken wings on the starter platter was very nice, so was the duck.
Really great food and service. Requested via booking to sit downstairs and didn't even have to mention when we arrived. As always, beautiful food (and really generous portions), awesome drinks and great service. All 3 of us were as jealous as eachother of one another's meals absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavour.

Fake indian pathetic restaurant that is not an Indian restaurant. all are fake bangladesch arrogante types. they are so rude to talk to customers that the first impression to have food is lost. they do not show any respect to the customers who enter. they cannot sit on their own faust on the choice of the original table, whatever they decide to sit hva only there. during the order they have so many conditions that each person must book a full meal, even if they do not have so much appetit. they will open their ass before british or English sides and can strip naked on their demand while serving others who feel them as they were accepted. I was on this site and at both times I felt that this is not the place for which I should choose. I will never think of them that their business in the name india.
I had lunch and got a place next to a window. a few minutes later I moved to the empty restaurant when I felt cold. the seat and the air from the outside window I sat beside us to dispense the cold. i was told it was ‘NO COLD’. it was just because I came in from the outside. he was not respectful in the dead. I'm not sure he talked to me like that because I'm south Asian. I'm years old and have been eating in london for years. I am very rarely moving because of cold. are the again of the court duty and word of MOUTH?DO they dislike money? TRAIN your staff APPROPRIATELY. foods were appropriate.

First arrived the restaurant was busy but the server says we could sit out side, I wish she would have said we’re full but ended up waiting a long time to get our starter, then waited another 30 minutes before the first mains turned up but then my partner had to wait another 5- 10 minutes to get hers, My dinner did not taste very nice the chicken tasted like it was frozen and heated up with no seasoning. The starters were not very nice and slightly cold . During our long wait we noticed a consistent supply of deliveroo cyclist turning up for online orders, I understand this might of helped a restaurant survive during covid but those times are gone and now the wait times have shot up because of this. Waste of money the quality has suffered compared to how it used to be run, what a shame the place used to be amazing
The service at this restaurant was very disappointing, as we were virtually neglected for a long time. We had almost finished our main course before receiving the necessary cutlery. The prawn crackers were burnt, although we were not charged for them. The spring rolls were decent, and the Thai beer was enjoyable.
This long-standing restaurant located at the top of Basingstoke town offers a variety of delightful dishes. The service is excellent and the food is expertly prepared. Suitable for vegetarians.
We visited based on personal recommendation and were not disappointed! Wow … the food was AMAZING! The best food I have eaten in a very long time… so fresh and tasty. We had a set menu and every dish was exquisite… a real treat for the tastebuds … the crispy duck salad was probably my favourite due to its intensely refreshing flavours of the salad against the heat and crispness of the duck… we will definitely be back!

This Thai restaurant located at the top of town is a great option for those following a gluten-free diet. The menu clearly marks GF items, and there are plenty of naturally gluten-free options available. As someone with Celiac Disease, I always make sure to inform the staff about my dietary restrictions, and I have eaten here 5 or 6 times without any issues. I usually visit during lunchtime when they have a special menu and it tends to be less crowded. My go-to order is the chicken satay with green chicken curry, and it never disappoints.
Thai restaurant at the top of the city. GF elements are marked in the menu. There are many options and I think a lot of the menu is of course GF. I have always said I have CD and must follow GF diet etc. I've eaten 5 or 6 times there and not glutenized. I should say I usually go to lunch as they have a special menu and it is generally quite quiet. Oh and I always command the same chicken Satay with green chicken curry.
