The food quality is subpar, often missing items and takes a long time to be served. We used to come here at least once a week, but every time we give it another chance, we regret it. Don't invest in a takeaway restaurant if you have no experience running one. Save your money and dine elsewhere. I will never return to this restaurant.

I placed an order a month ago and it was completely wrong, and I was still charged for items I did not receive. I decided to give them a second chance tonight, but unfortunately, the service was just as bad. I waited over 1 1/2 hours for my food, even though I was initially told it would be ready in 40 minutes. When I called to inquire about my order, the person who answered the phone was incredibly rude and unapologetic, telling me to go somewhere else. I will not be returning to this restaurant and will be warning others to avoid it as well.

I don't like leaving negative reviews but sadly my last order was aweful. We've used Ricefields for years and they have always been tasty and reasonably priced... read more I don't like leaving negative reviews but sadly my last order was aweful. We've used Ricefields for years and they have always been tasty and reasonably priced for what you got, however this order had gone up in price... which I understand but then the portions have reduced and I suspect you have to pay an extra pound to get the old portion sizes which are large.. everything was tasteless and they gave us the wrong spare ribs and no bbq gravy for a second time! Sadly we won't be using them in the future felt extremely ripped off and dissappointed at how it's changed. I suspect that people will sadly be avoiding this Chinese for the same reasons. Advice to owners would be don't charge more then give less your customers are not idiots and doing this will cost you business further down the line. I'm happy to pay more for the same item if it's the same size.

Salt pepper chilli ribs were lovely but £6 for 5 ribs I feel a little OTT however everything is going up in price) special curry was tasteless very bland, meat rubbery and sauce was extremely thin, egg fried rice was lovely, lemon chicken, the chicken was so dry it would have made good soles for my shoes, why is the satay sauce now disgusting, completely different sauce to what they used to do, portions are much smaller, I do get that though with costs for everything rising, the telephone and delivery staff are always lovely, can anyone recommend a good Chinese takeaway in Basildon apart from Ricefields obviously)
