Add informal ambiance, friendly staff, choice of fresh fruit and very reasonable prices (for Basel!), and you've got the perfect place for a quick lunch in center Basel.

This Soup Basel can be accessed from the st... read more Currently, there are three of the Soup Basel locations around the city. I visited the Fischmarkt location for lunch. This Soup Basel can be accessed from the street level next to the Subway store or take the stairs up to walk right inside of their enclosed patio seating. The staff was super nice in welcoming me in and explained their order system. Choose your soup, priced at small 8CHF, large 11CHF and each includes your selection of a piece of fruit from the basket and as much bread as you would like. I had the large, spicy Vegetable soup and a few slices of their fresh bread selections. They offer take-away orders or feel free to have a seat at any of the tables inside or in their enclosed patio. I grabbed a nice seat at the window counter with views over the Fischmarktbrunnen. There is a child play area in the enclosed patio. They also make sure to give you one of their frequent visitor stamp cards with your order. Delicious soups, wonderful staff!
