The personnel was amazing, very kind and attentive and everyone, chef included, gave me birthday wishes. For the menu we chose the 8 plates menu and I think it was perfect from quantity and quality (2 entree, 2 first, 2 mains and 2 desserts). The food was simply spectacular, few ingredients but so nicely assembled and thought of. Beautiful plates and super tasty and genuine food. We loved that they use regional and seasonal product whenever they can. The restaurant is quite minimal decorated but once it is full (which it was) it was a very cozy ambient. The cuisine proposed by Pascal Steffen is absolutely mind blowing (especially considering the size of his team . A pure fireworks of tastes and textures, and a solid contender to the title of the best place to dine in Basel. We particularly appreciated the cuisine (give me more of those veggies and the nicely relaxed atmosphere. Service was great and relaxed too, creating a cozy atmosphere. We loved our evening and dinner and are truly looking forward to the next occasion. A massive thank you to the whole Roots team! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: CHF 100+
