!!—————————————————————!! The worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life When I arrived, they told me that parking costs 30 CHF per day, and then added that parking might not even be available due to it being crowded! When I requested room cleaning — which is a standard service in hotels worldwide — they told me it would be done the next day!!! And when the next day came, they opened the door on me early in the morning while I was asleep!! There isn’t even a “Do Not Disturb” sign to put on the door???? The reception staff have very bad attitudes and poor manners. They are not helpful at all. When I asked for water the next day — which should normally be provided in the room — they told me I had to pay for it! They don’t provide proper service at all. It feels like you are staying there at their expense, not yours! This was my experience on 03/04/2026, and I do not recommend anyone to choose this hotel.

Good place. Very nice breakfast. 2 minute walk to tram stops. The pool, gym and sauna are wonderful.

This could be a great hotel. It has some of the best facilities in Basel. Unfortunately, Radisson uses it as a training ground constantly rotating staff. In almost 10 years that I've been coming to this hotel it's rare, unless I come back within a couple months, that I see the same staff. And it's not just reception staff it's also the staff at the restaurant the cleaning staff everybody seems to rotate regularly. That's a few value consistency in a hotel don't stay here. Having said that the level of service varies from very reasonable to very poor. It never quite reaches outstanding or excellent. The facilities are aging, but the pool, sauna, and steam room are nice. The gym's a little bit small but reasonable. They do their best to maintain these, but they are old. The rooms are more modernly decorated but many of the appliances, particularly in the bathroom don't always work. I've had handles fall off of the faucets and the shower that literally collapsed on me. This stay I've had none of that, which is the norm, but once you had the experience you have a fear almost every other time you stay here. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a reasonable size, not too large to be exceptional, but also not too small to be cramped. The overall experience is notable for its inconsistency. Sometimes it's a reasonable four-star hotel, but at other times it's a poor three star hotel. This time it was somewhere in between, I'd say it was a reasonable three-star hotel stay. The staff were friendly and reasonably competent and the breakfast was good.

Very noisy rooms near the elevator or overlooking the main street. Bad smelling from the room. Old room. Bad stay.

Unfortunately, this stay was a real disappointment for me. After an almost 10-hour train journey, I arrived close to 1:00 AM and had expected a very different experience from what I usually associate with this hotel brand. While the suite was very spacious, it unfortunately felt quite dated, and the windows were visibly very dirty from the outside, which significantly affected the overall impression. What disappointed me even more was the service experience. Several messages I sent in advance were never answered, and upon arrival it seemed that my three-night reservation – although confirmed – had not been properly taken into account. At one point the reception desk was also unattended when I wanted to ask for an additional blankety Most importantly, I simply felt invisible as a guest. Regardless of membership status, hospitality should make guests feel welcome. I have “earned” my VIP status through many stays over the years, and in Radisson properties around the world I am used to at least a small gesture of appreciation at check-in. This time, there was none at all, which was surprising and disappointing. On a positive note, the restaurant staff were very kind, the breakfast was decent, and the pool area is large and was enjoyed by my daughter, which was a nice highlight during the stay. However, overall the experience unfortunately did not meet the standards I usually associate with Radisson, which makes this particularly disappointing. I cancelled my second night and went to another hotel.
