I stayed at the Basel Marriott for one night in December. The hotel itself was fine, standard Marriott property. I had an incident though that ruined my stay. A... read more I stayed at the Basel Marriott for one night in December. The hotel itself was fine, standard Marriott property. I had an incident though that ruined my stay. An employee entered my room in the early morning even though the do not disturb and dead bolt were on. I called down to the front desk and they said it was an engineer working on a room next door. The fact that he was able to unlock the door with the deadbolt on was very concerning. He had no reason or right to enter (I was not dressed). I was very shook so when I checked out that day, I asked the hotel manager to contact me about the incident and he never did. I also reached out to Marriott Corporate and did not receive a response. Very disappointed that Marriott does not value the safety and security of their guests.
