I must say, my experience was absolutely fantastic, and I am delighted to give them a well-deserved 5-star review! First and foremost, the ambiance at Cardamom is delightful. Whether you choose to sit outside and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Barfussplatz or prefer a cozy indoor setting, the restaurant offers a very nice atmosphere that caters to different preferences. When it comes to the food, Cardamom truly shines. The menu boasts a wonderful selection of dishes that cater to various tastes. Every dish I tried was bursting with fresh flavors and authentic spices, which truly elevated the overall dining experience. It's evident that the chefs at Cardamom have a deep understanding of Indian cuisine and are dedicated to delivering an exceptional culinary journey to their patrons. What made my visit even more enjoyable was the friendly and attentive service provided by Jesse. From the moment we walked in, he extended a warm welcome and ensured that our dinner was a memorable one. One tip I would like to share is to order around 1.5 dishes per person and consider sharing them in the middle. Pretty authentic, albeit extremely expensive by international standards expect to pay around 30 35 CHF for curry and rice. This is fairly normal for Switzerland though. If you’re used to British curries, this will be triple the price and below the quality you’re used to, but for residents of Basel, this is about the best you’re going to get!
