Contribute FeedbackNicely decorated. On a weekday afternoon we were the only people there and the music (nice jazz) was so loud that I had to almost shout to the person sitting next to me. The usual indifferent Basel service. When the sun is out you can sit outside if you don`t mind the smokers. The draught beer is from the Appenzeller Brauerei. Not my favourite but very popular in Basel. The waiters wear flat caps. Coffee is only 4CHF. They have a good selection of the usual cocktails.
I come to Flore occasionally in the morning for a delicious cup of coffee. Sometimes I come in the evening to enjoy the excellent wine and the great atmosphere of a real wine bar. Once a month Café Flore organizes what its owner calls une grande bouffe . We went tonight. It was an outstanding experience from the very original starter to the main course of mussels and the cheese plate at the end. With different wines for each course. Everything included, including the trmendous buzz, for Fr. 79. This has to be one of the more exciting places in Basel. You should reserve the la grande bouffe. The Flore is on Klybeckstrasse, a short distance from the Kaserne tram stop on the no. 8 line.
Petit Paris au coeur de Kleinbasel!Definitiv mein lieblings Kaffee in Basel.
Cafe Flore is just a block away from Kaserne. Tram #8 takes a block away. The place has walkway seats and plays in jazz music while the bartender is blowing and snaps with his fingers. There are tables, window cushions, wooden chairs and padded cups along a wall. The bartender was friendly. I ordered a oat milk hot chocolate (5CHF) and it was dark and tasty drink served with a small slice of lebpie. As the sign on the door says, no Wi-Fi, no credit cards, but good people inside!
Friendly bar staff and beautiful surroundings. Beautiful mix of locals and travellers. Tasty beer and wine selection. A few blocks walk historically from the river to the Florstrasse is a great find of a bar with beautiful interior suits and numerous barefoot café tables for these good weather days. We had a delicious coffee, then a bit stronger, a beer and my wife had a selection of many wines. The friendly bartenders give suggestions for bottle wine purchases that you can consume at the table or take to the river or at home. Snacks are available as well as a unique huge rustic table from a single tree that looks like it is for group meetings or parties. We really liked this place, would return to Basel on future visits.
