Kenzington Burger - Barrie
Kenzington Burger
Description
A go-to for burger lovers, this lively spot serves consistently excellent, inventive burgers and a strong craft-beer program; portions and beer flights impress, and late hours plus plentiful parking make it convenient. The menu stretches beyond burgers with daily deals that help offset higher prices.
Service and consistency vary: staff can be attentive and playful, but occasional lapses, terse receipts and sticky tables tarnish visits. The kid- and dog-friendly patio and live music boost atmosphere but can get loud; wine and dessert options remain limited.

I gave Kenzington Burger Bar a higher rating than usual because it's the only place in Barrie that stays open late while all the other restaurants, like St. Louis and Wild Wings, close early. The staff is attentive and demonstrates excellent customer service skills. The restaurant is well-designed and provides a nice escape in the South end, with a diverse menu that offers more than just burgers. Although a few menu items are overpriced, they do offer some daily deals to enhance the overall value. There is plenty of parking available since most surrounding shops close at 7 PM. When they have live music, it adds to the atmosphere, but it can be too loud for the space.
Not wanting to escalate the situation, we decided to drop the issue and just ask for our bills. When she brought the bill, we noticed that she had given my friend a discount, which we appreciated, although it was unexpected. However, our positive impression didn't last long when we saw the receipt. The waitress had left a comment that read, "Customer clearly didn't read the menu." To top it off, she didn't stick around for us to pay; she just tossed the debit machine onto the table and walked away. This experience has left such a negative impression that we will not be returning to this location.
Food was amazing, not a single complaint about that. Problem was the service. We were generally ignored by all staff, but especially our server. A large group arrived after my wife and I, so we got forgotten about. Even had to go to the bar to ask for the bill just so we could leave. Maybe it was an off day for the staff, but I will not be returning to this location. It's too bad the one in Bradford closed.
The food and service were excellent. We were greeted by Devo, who made us feel like cherished locals.
Every time I come here and look at the menu prices, I think this place is expensive. As soon as I bite into their burger or sandwich, I think, yeah, totally worth it. Maybe consider having some padding on booth seating...and although you use a cleaner on your table that makes it feel sticky...it's still kinda gross. Consider changing it.
