Enormous piece of cow with excellent wine! Restaurant was open from 9.00 pm. Service was cery nice. I recomend this place.
We went there as it would serve us at 7pm and our preferred choice of restaurant would not. Awful decision. Had one of the set menus. It culminated in steak which was borderline acceptable yet 50% fat. Before that was some concoction called peppers stuffed with seafood. No seafood discernible at all and the pepper was plonked on a lettuce leaf and covered in a grey gloop which we took to be mushroom sauce. The salad before that was also very poor and had inedible unripe avocado in it. My wife described it as 'my worst meal for a very long time '. Avoid.
A restaurant I want to go back to because if I remember it several months hence it must have been good. It was 90 Euros for a huge seatplatter for two with a starter and an afters and a bottle of wine, coffee and even a chupito. The seafood was of the finest quality. The interior décor was also of interest. It looked like a large conservatory but with ambient lighting.
A unique restaurant in Ajo....great seafood, wine and homemade goodies. We ordered the seafood platter with all kinds of grilled shrimp, lobster, crabs, etc...a feast for two! The best part: all is inside a 500 gallon wine barrel. What an atmosphere...great food, service and wine. Nothing bad about this!! We recommend if you are in Cantabria and near AJO...worth the time to drive over there. For over 25 years we have been friends with the owner and his people...it always gets better. Plenty of antiques to view while you are waiting. Fair price for the quantity......the after dinner drinks are fee..... Ramon is a special waiter...been there for over 20 years....like a friend! Highly recommend!!!
