Dave cooked our steaks perfectly, serving my partner's well-done steak alongside my rare steak. The food was well-seasoned, and even the vegetables, which I usually find bland, were excellent. The deep-fried banana dessert was a standout dish that we would definitely come back for. My boyfriend, who typically avoids vegetables, was pleasantly surprised when Dave brought over an extra plate of fries for him. I had a baked potato that was one of the best I've ever had. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, this may not be the place for you. But if you're looking for quality food at a fair price, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Dave and his son Nathan do it up right. Highly recommend that you try for yourself.

I ordered the chicken parmesan, which was not frozen and the panko breading stayed crispy throughout the entire meal. It came with a side of pasta and homemade tomato sauce. My wife had the grilled pickerel, which was excellent, and she especially loved the fresh side vegetables done Asian style. Our daughters each had spaghetti with homemade meatballs and they absolutely loved it!

It was wonderful to be welcomed inside by the owner, Dave, and we enjoyed the... read more This unassuming diner had great reviews or otherwise we may have driven right by. It was wonderful to be welcomed inside by the owner, Dave, and we enjoyed the time we spent chatting with him. (Luckily the after-church crowd hadn't quite arrived yet, so he had time to visit with us). Our breakfasts were freshly prepared and served promptly. Social distancing protocols were in place, but did not overshadow the visit. It was nice to have a dine-in experience in our new getting-back-to-normal world. We will definitely look Dave up the next time we do a road trip through Bancroft.
