The real deal! Chaps Pit Beef has a BBQ pit so outstanding that there's a line out the door by 10:45 AM. Conveniently located just off I-95, it's the perfect stop for a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Chaps has been featured on various Food Network programs, including Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Don't forget to try the sauces! They offer an array of flavorful sauces that perfectly complement the BBQ. I opted for 'The Raven' specialty sandwich, which includes Roast Beef, Corned Beef, and Turkey! If you're ever driving through Baltimore, make sure to stop by Chaps Pit Beef and explore their menu; it’s an experience you won't want to miss.
The original location remains the top choice. Although the lines aren’t as long as they used to be, there’s typically still a wait. Don’t forget to keep that door closed! The beef steals the spotlight, but all the meats cooked over the pit are fantastic. Wee Bey even indulged in an extra pit beef sandwich, proving it’s on point. Bonus points for having a Hodad's sticker at the ordering window!
The food was excellent, although there can be a bit of a wait at times, but it’s manageable. If you’re coming in from work or similar, this is a fantastic spot to enjoy some well-prepared meals.
The snacks are incredible! We tried several, and the standout was the one that includes a bit of every type of meat.
We arrived and were completely ignored at the counter while an employee wrapped sandwiches right in front of us, without a greeting or even a question. Our sandwiches were missing all the sauces we ordered, leaving us with a dry mess of meat. To make matters worse, the meat was extremely bland, lacking any hint of salt or seasoning. Hoping for some redemption with our coleslaw and mac and cheese, we found those to be better than the main dishes. However, halfway through the mac and cheese, I discovered a small black hair sticking out from the noodles. We will not be returning; we were very disappointed, especially given how well-regarded this place is. It seems that the fame has compromised your standards. What a letdown.
