Kurt is phenomenal and always provides excellent service and recommendations. Its easy to see how passionate he is about his work and Annabel Lee. I 've been back there 8 9 times now the bartender Jess has been there almost every time I don 't like to speak negatively, but she is a HUGE disservice to this restaurant and all of the hard work that Kurt puts in with making his customers feel welcomed. It 's to the point to that I will call first now and if she 's working, I won 't go in or I will get my food to go. She is not friendly and is never attentive. She should NOT be in the service industry. Kurt definitely makes up for her negative and unfriendly attitude, though. We came from Virginia and because of Google, we went there once and they were still closed (2pm) and a second time they were no longer serving food and closing shortly after we got there (9:15). We never got to try the food butdrinks and bartender were great.

They only really had... read more So I?ll be honest, I came to this tavern hoping to pick up some Edgar Allan Poe merch because the museum was closed the day I was in town. They only really had merch for their tavern. BUT! The food was good, the drinks were better, the place wascharming, and I?m absolutely going to come back the next time I?m in Baltimore! I?m recommending this place to all my friends!The only reason I?m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it certainly looked like the gift shop they had would be morestocked, and more diverse instead of tavern merch. Oh well. I still loved it!
