When we arrived, the manager was working at the hostess stand and informed us that they were running behind schedule, so it would be a while before we could be seated. We waited for over an hour for our table, but enjoyed some drinks at the bar in the meantime. Once we were seated, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Each of us had different dishes and everyone was pleased with their choice. I was initially worried that the food might not be up to par on such a busy holiday with a prix fixe menu, but I was pleasantly surprised. Although I didn't catch her name, the manager on duty that night did a great job handling the frustrated guests. I will definitely be returning to Bar Vasquez.

It was restaurant week so we knew we were not going to get best effort food-wise but the baccalau crispy cake tasted only of potato and the salmon was greasy. Also it would be SO nice to see more vegan and vegetarian choices on fine dining menus in the city! Our vegan is tired of the same old pasta roasted vegetables and never any dessert options! This isn’t a fad anymore and plant based diets are good for the planet as well as the person. Look at Vedge in Philadelphia! Elegant food in an elegant atmosphere and all vegan! It can be done!

Three peopl... read more The ambiance of the place is great, but the food is extremely mediocre. We went there for restaurant week and were not impressed by anything we ate. Three people ordered steak but none of us received the steak as per our order. One of the steaks was so rare that there was some blood oozing, but about a quarter of the same steak was cooked to medium-rare. Would perhaps go for drinks but not for food.
