Was Jen Norton at Phamous Kitchen a mag?
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The service was exceptional, the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was great. There is plenty of free parking on the street after 7pm. I dined in for dinner and the price per person was between A$40-60. The food was delicious, with a rating of 5 out of 5, as was the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the Roasted Duck, Vietnamese Pizza, Duck Rice Pape... View all feedback.
What Maree Vogt dislikes about Phamous Kitchen:
The service was really great here, it was the selling point of the restaurant. The food was very average, for entree I ordered the duck rolls which were okay, the lamb entree was absolutely delicious (best dish of the night) and over priced for entree’s $18 each roughly. For mains I ordered the massuman lamb and Penang chicken, the mains were a let down. The Penang tasted more like a stir fry, for a curry there was n... View all feedback.
We had a cracking meal here last night! The Bo Lac and Salmon Currie were standouts in a great meal. If you have not tried this place get amongst it!
Ordered takeaway . Food was fantastic and service was fabulous , I ordered duck rolls and Ga Gin chicken . Roll was tasty and health , a lot of veg inside .one and only thing is very hard to find parking area. I walk through the road to find a good eating place in balmain, mistakenly hit into phomous, traditional Vietnamese flour, tacit and taskewed friends in the boat, staggered to the boat, and recommended a chicken to the che. One person may eat two.
Wincing a little at the spelling of the name, I entered Phamous Kitchen with some trepidation. I’m not a big fan of Sydney’s Thai Foon of Thai Riffic restaurant pun names and I feared that Vietnamese restaurants were about to become just as Hanoi ing... Luckily, in this case the name is simply a reference to the owner and chef, Thanh Pham. He lives in Bankstown pretty much the heart of Sydney’s Vietnamese community but has brought his cooking skills to bear in Balmain. The restaurant is situated on the highly competitive restaurant strip opposite Balmain Hospital and Gladstone Park. It slotted into the site vacated by One6Eight, just two doors away from another Vietnamese restaurant pushing a more traditional schtick. Gone are the...

We went to this restaurant specifically for a celebratory dinner. We decided to try the wine and we were glad we did because it had been open for 11 days past the date on the bottle. We ended up buying a new bottle, but it was quite expensive for the quality. The scallops were small and tasty, but not worth $18 for only 2. The Tamarind Duck we ordered arrived late, while everyone else at the table had to wait and their food got cold. The duck was overcooked and dry. The other dishes were tasty, but nothing exceptional. The waitress placed the food wherever there was an open spot on the table, so she didn't know who ordered what. I believe that for the prices they are charging, patrons should expect a higher quality dining experience. Additionally, in a society that increasingly uses credit cards, charging a surcharge for using one should be reconsidered. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
