The Pickin' Patch - Avon
The Pickin' Patch
Description
Pickin' Patch in Avon, Connecticut is a centuries-old family farm turned seasonal destination, prized for its vast pumpkin selection, country store with fresh produce, apple cider, pies, jams and honey, and popular autumn bakery treats like cider donuts. It offers picture-perfect pumpkin fields and family-friendly strolls. Seasonal offerings can be inconsistent—hay rides and U‑pick pumpkins aren’t always available—and on-site fried concessions and occasional brusque service have drawn criticism. A charming fall outing if you temper expectations for some concessions and activities.
Feedback
This is a great spot to pick your own vegetables! You can also purchase freshly harvested ones. Everything is incredibly delicious!
If you decide to visit, I recommend avoiding assistance from the older woman wearing glasses. During both of my visits, she was dismissive, inattentive, and almost rude. The overall atmosphere felt negative. I won’t be going back.
A delightful stop for the autumn season! They have a wonderful variety of pumpkins available, even later in the year. We also enjoyed the farm stand filled with plenty of seasonal treats. Their apple cider was fantastic. We definitely plan to return!
Fresh vegetables! Friendly staff! Lovely atmosphere! Great prices! Enjoy your shopping experience!
