Burgerfi - Avon
Burgerfi
Description
This neighborhood burger joint delivers standout fries and creamy frozen custard, solid burgers and a welcome spicy-chicken option for those avoiding red meat. Friendly staff and a lively atmosphere contrast recurring service hiccups: glitchy self-order kiosks, occasional slow pickup and lukewarm delivery, and uneven gluten-free bun quality. Owner involvement and attentive employees keep it promising—parking is easy and delivery bags are sealed—making it worth a try for burger lovers who can tolerate some inconsistency.

I rated this restaurant 3 stars, but it really deserves more like 2.5. I’ve tried their burgers twice, and I encountered the same problem both times. The gluten-free bun was stale. I understand that gluten-free bread can be dry, but this was so crumbly that I could barely hold the burger together. The taste of the bun was also off. It’s frustrating to pay an extra $2.00 for a gluten-free option that is subpar. On the bright side, the burger itself is good, and the fries are tasty too. However, I would advise anyone needing gluten-free options to avoid the gluten-free bun here.
According to my order confirmation, it would be ready by 7:40 PM, and we arrived at the store around 7:38 PM. The manager informed me that our order would take just a few more minutes, which was perfectly fine, so I stepped back to allow other customers to approach the counter. We waited...and waited. By about 7:52 PM, I spotted a bag sitting on the counter and asked the manager if that was our order. I have no idea how long it had been there, but the food was lukewarm by the time we got home. We also ordered a milkshake, frozen custard, and a concrete, so the manager checked with the woman preparing those items. She handed me the custard in a cup without a lid and a churro poking out—it looked delicious, but I had to drive home with it. The manager managed to find a French fry container for the churro and a lid to press down on the custard. I even had to ask for a bag to carry the custard, churro, and concrete. It made me wonder how they handle these orders for DoorDash. Once we got home, the only item that impressed me was the custard—it was quite good. My son ordered onion rings that were not great, and my burger tasted overly salty for some reason. Perhaps it was the bacon or the pickles? Either way, I didn’t enjoy it much at all. Everything was lukewarm after the short five-minute drive home. Our previous visit was better, though that was during the week when it wasn't as busy, which likely made a difference. I hope my next update will feature a more positive review.
Food was really great as always, but the service this time was fantastic. They took a minute to get shakes out to us and ended up giving us free custard to apologize. The new owner was involved and seemed to really be making this place great again!
Ordered beyond burgers staff was fantastic and professional clean facilities will be back
Just wanted to shed light on a phenomenal employee they have I believe her name is Alicia. Every time my husband and I arrives she gives us nothing short of excellent service. We usually get the CEO she referred us to try the NEW Chef Burger this time 10/10. Rather it’s bringing the food to the table or helping us on our way out with the door, we want you to know your hard work and dedication never goes unnoticed. We need more people like you in the workplace. Hats off to you Bravo!Parking: Excellent
