The Nashville chicken sandwich was delicious, but the hush puppies were a letdown. We ordered them as a snack, but they didn’t arrive until we had already finished our sandwiches. To make matters worse, they were so burnt that we couldn’t eat them at all. It felt like the kitchen had forgotten about them and just served us the charred version anyway. Our server also seemed to be having a rough day and made that quite clear. Overall, I was not impressed; there are definitely better dining options in Ashland.

The second order was exactly what I had hoped for—juicy, succulent, and fresh (see pictures). The first order seemed like leftover food from earlier in the day that had simply been reheated, which is quite disappointing. Despite these issues, there is a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. If they serve you a fresh order, the chicken can be fantastic. However, I wouldn’t recommend visiting; it feels too much like a gamble. If you do decide to go, remember that after they seat you and provide you with a menu, you’ll need to get up and order from the bar. Good luck!

The buffalo popcorn chicken, paired with sriracha ranch sauce, is absolutely tasty, and the gluten-free mac and cheese topped with potato chips is a must-try. The grilled chicken tacos with cotija cheese are also exceptional! Additionally, the barbecue brisket beans are gluten-free. Don’t miss out on their happy hour from 12 to 4 PM, where you can enjoy some great specials, and the portion sizes are quite generous as well!

We had a great time with the trivia cards on the tables and noticed that the young cooks seemed really excited about making our meals. When our food arrived, it looked amazing! However, I felt that my salad had a bit too much green goddess dressing, and the grilled chicken was a bit on the salty side. My boyfriend thought his fried chicken could have been crispier. Despite these small issues, we’re definitely planning to return to this place!
