I had lunch and dinner with my partner, the burghers were delicious, very meaty with well cooked chunky chips. The scallops with black pudding were very fresh and cooked very well. Mussels as main were tasty and fresh. All meals were accompanied by good local ales. Service very good and attentive and friendly. Definitely I like to go back! View all feedback.
What Tony Ward doesn't like about The Kames:

Very luxurious with a beautiful outsight, friendly, helpful staff that could not do enough to help with our inquiries, we were a bit lost because of sat nav problems.) it was almost worth going lost to find this place. highly recommended for a relaxing stay.

Good food and good service. The homemade steak pie was excellent. The bar had been converted into a restaurant since we were last there. The revamped decor and lighting were a bit stark and lacking the ambience of the old bar. The prices were roughly in line with Portavadie Marina and both highlight their local suppliers, but the Kames has a pub grub feel.
We needed an impromptu stop due to travel issues on Argyllshire. We'll we fell on our feet with this fantastic hotel...we cannot speak highly enough of all the staff...if you are thinking of a hotel with a great view, fantastic feel and friendly staff...look no further
