The recent changes at this Kintyre peninsula establishment have left diners disappointed, with language barriers and lower quality service. On the other hand, a family-run hotel and restaurant provided top-notch service, delicious food, and a warm welcome. The Frigate bar impressed with great drinks and an inviting atmosphere, although some found the presence of large dogs uncomfortable. Despite ups and downs, it seems that the owners are dedicated to improving and making their establishment a success, with attentive service, good food, and a friendly atmosphere in place.

It's ok. One of the few options left in tarbert.
Nice wee pub with a good selection of beers. Very dog friendly he had a bowl of water and a treat from the staff before our drinks arrived. Staff and locals very friendly.
We booked two rooms and I can not sleep because of the smell of the beddings. I wrapped the pillow with towel so not to smell the person from previous guest smell, it’s revolting. The shower wall is mouldy and the carpet dirty especially at the stairs. Very noisy at the back too!

Awful service. We were told we were 5 minutes late for our breakfast booking so could not have breakfast. After I argued that we had been booked in for that breakfast time slot we were then allowed to order food. The rudest waiter I have ever encountered. Absolutely no customer service or hospitality what so ever.
