And what a lunc... read more Change of approach from Carla. Now only doing lunches with a set four course menu there are samples on the website. but prepare to be surprised. And what a lunch! brilliant local produce, cuisine influences from around the world. Fantastic cookery, we’d never heard of several of the ingredients “grains of paradise” with meadowsweet and chocolate. A truly memorable meal. Lunch at Ninth Wave is relaxed and unhurried with good service and plenty of opportunity to chat to the chef. Come ready for an event rather than just lunch, allow yourself 3 4 hrs especially if you choose to add the cheeseboard.

The decor inside is lovely and calming, I loved the colour on the walls. The atmosphere is very relaxed and as the restaurant is so small, the table is yours for the evening and we never felt rushed at all.

We walked from our Airbnb in Fionnphort, which took about 15 minutes, without knowing what to expect. However, the restaurant and the staff were wonderful. The food was delicious, made with local ingredients, and beautifully presented. The owner, John, had caught our lobster that morning, and his wife was the talented chef. They were also joined by another couple for the summer season, one working in the kitchen and the other serving customers.
