Was Martin D at Gate 1 Cafe a mag?
After enjoying the exceptional airport cafe on Barra, it seemed unlikely that anywhere else could compare. However, Amber provided us with great service and a cheerful attitude. The selection of cakes was limited but delicious. On a nice day, you can sit outside. View all feedback.

What DavidDundonald dislikes about Gate 1 Cafe:
I have definitely been to better places, as the food here is rather lackluster. We tried the homemade soup which was slightly too salty and a mozzarella panini that was very disappointing with no flavor at all. The homemade cakes looked good, but most customers seem to prefer ordering burgers and fries. It seems to be that kind of establishment. View all feedback.

I was pleasantly surprised by this airport café. The food was good and reasonably priced, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great job.

One of our favourite places to go for lunch. The skinny fries are the best on Islay (or anywhere else come to think of it) when the specials are lentil soup, donar wrap or chicken pakora burger I must either over indulge or struggle to pick one! Linda her team are very friendly make for a warm welcome. If you’ve not yet been, then go!

Had some soup, Cajun chicken salad and scone with coffee. All good grub and kept me in working shape, maybe the scone could have done with a wee blast in the microwave for ten aeconds to soft it a touch but can’t fault the soup and the Cajun chicken salad was tasty!
