Was Fiona T at Argyll Arms a mag?
After staying locally for 4 nights we decided to have our last dinner at the restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner of local crab claw salad, home cooked beef pie the two under 6’s fully enjoyed their homemade macaroni cheese. I ordered my first carrot cheesecake for pudding and it was amazing. A lovely night had by all, great food! View all feedback.
What KathrineSimpson dislikes about Argyll Arms:
The room where we sat was not very good maintained and it looked more like a youth club/bar than a restaurant. We ordered fish and chips x 3, and when I came to 50 I stopped counting bones… The peas were hard and the experience was among the worst I have had on a hotel restaurant. The places to eat in Fionnphort are much better if you want a good meal. View all feedback.

It's alright, but don't expect anything extraordinary. The food was decent quality pub fare. It's important to note that there aren't many dining options available in this area of Mull.
Standard fodder, tasty enough albeit frozen chips and Iceland cheesecake and not cheap considering you’re dining in a roadside caf. The premises are in need of some very serious TLC .. windows ready to fall out and absolutely no ambience, The language emitting from some of the patrons was a bit choice given there was some older ladies in the restaurant. The lady behind bar (maybe Mags) was pleasant but the young girl serving could do with a few lessons in customer service as there was not a word throughout service not an ‘everything okay with your meal’ in sight. Would not use again unless all other options exhausted. The people who work there seem disinterested! A bit of a hole really, still trading as there’s nothing else in the area.
7pm dinner, steak pie and macaroni cheese were both delicious. Stunning views. Unfortunately the restaurant was freezing on arrival and didn’t warm up throughout. With a big wood-burner in sight it was a shame that it wasn’t in use. A good atmosphere, friendly staff but the building itself needs some attention. We were sat at the front window next to a thick line of mould along its seal. Really no excuse. Needs a deep clean. Apart from that, food was good, waitress friendly. Lots of little improvements could make a huge difference here.
The pub menu is limited, but the food is cooked well. I ordered the chicken burger and it was delicious. The waitress was friendly and helpful. They have implemented Covid-19 measures. The rhubarb and strawberry cheesecake was fantastic. The restaurant offers beautiful sea views.
The restaurant receives mixed reviews, with some diners criticizing the maintenance and cleanliness of the place. Despite this, some visitors enjoyed the food, especially the gourmet burger and local specialties. The staff was friendly, and Covid-19 measures were implemented. The stunning views provided a pleasant dining experience for many. Overall, the restaurant offers decent pub fare, but there are areas that need improvement, such as cleanliness and menu variety. Visitors recommend trying local seafood and carrot cheesecake, while noting that other dining options in Fionnphort may offer better quality meals.
