After staying locally for 4 nights we decided to have our last dinner at the restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner of local crab claw salad, home cooked beef pie the two under 6’s fully enjoyed their homemade macaroni cheese. I ordered my first carrot cheesecake for pudding and it was amazing. A lovely night had by all, great food! View all feedback.
What KathrineSimpson doesn't like about Argyll Arms:
The room where we sat was not very good maintained and it looked more like a youth club/bar than a restaurant. We ordered fish and chips x 3, and when I came to 50 I stopped counting bones… The peas were hard and the experience was among the worst I have had on a hotel restaurant. The places to eat in Fionnphort are much better if you want a good meal. View all feedback.
Good things: friendly welcome, fabulous views, excellent gourmet burger. Not-so-good things: grotty little place that needs a complete overhaul and a bloomin' good clean! Frozen chips tasted like cardboard, salad mostly leaves with a slice of tomato, poor menu with no imagination. Where's the local seafood?! Would we go back? Unlikely...

We stopped at this restaurant on the way back to Craignure after a boat trip out to Iona and Staffa on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was busy and we hadn't booked, but we managed to get the last table around 7.30pm. The food took a little while to arrive, but was well worth the wait. The pub and restaurant are all one and open plan, so there was quite a few people coming and going. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. Great views out to the water. Had the steak and the peppercorn sauce which were amazing. They also did a carrot cake cheese cake which tasted amazing. Definately worth popping in for food if you are in the area. Our three year old ate off the kids menu and enjoyed his meal too. Thanks again, would love to come back again soon.
Really busy restaurant/bar so had to wait a while after ordering, but it was worth the wait... best burger and chips I've had in a long time.
