On décide de prendre 2 smooth... read more Cherchant à faire un repas simple et leger à Amqui, direction la captive : cadre tres sympa (ancienne poste de police rehabilité). On décide de prendre 2 smoothie peche-mangue : on n'a pas trouvé de fruit frais dans nos verres (tres joli au passage). Gravelax de saumon : correct ; salade fraiche : de bonne crevettes mais les legumes ont peu de gout. Au final addition a plus de 35$ sans compter le pourboire....

Pour notre part nous avions pris une pizza et un sandwich et en entré le saumon fumé qui soit dis en passant est exquis! J'ai aussi adoré la petite salade de pâte servie avec le sandwich. Je recomande sans hesitation cet endroit pour la qualité du menu. Le seul point que j'enlève est la qualité du service. Je n'ai pas été mal servie mais j'aurais aimé avoir un serveur plus souriant et plus interesser à nous aider dans nos choix de menu. Merci

The coffee was exceptional and the homemade bread was a nice touch.

On Saturday evening, we walked down the main street in search of a nice... read more We recently went to Val d'Irene for snowboarding and decided to stay overnight in Amqui. On Saturday evening, we walked down the main street in search of a nice place to have dinner and drinks. After passing by a dark disco and an empty pizza place, we came across what appeared to be a microbrewery called La Captive. Only one person in our group of seven spoke French, which can sometimes lead to poor service, but this was not the case at La Captive. There was only one server working that night, but she was experienced and adept at managing the dining room and bar. The beer was brewed on site (you could see the equipment through large windows) and was delicious (I highly recommend the Blonde). The menu wasn't extensive, but it catered to everyone in our group, including a vegetarian and a vegan. The food was excellent, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere was charming, with dim lighting, original brick walls, and old wooden chairs. Our server was extremely helpful, accommodating, and even went out of her way to change the TV station for us. I highly recommend La Captive to anyone visiting Val d'Irene. It's a great spot for a late-night meal!
