Situated in Amqui, 1 hour from Matapedia where we reside, Cantine Fortier has the most delicious, reasonable breakfasts. For only .4.50 you get 2 eggs, toast, homefries, and coffee. The restaurant is always spotless, the staff is friendly and locals flock there to savour the food and the ambiance. I highly recommend it!

While it may not have much signage outside, it can be found near the McDonald's on the road. The friendly employees provide excellent service and the Galvaude poutine I ordered exceeded my expectations. The gravy was beautifully done and the double-fried fries were a highlight. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Cantine Fortier, a hidden gem since 1979.
