Cucina Bella - Algonquin
Cucina Bella
Description
Nestled in a cozy, lively setting, this restaurant offers a generally enjoyable dining experience with standout dishes like pork osso buco, shrimp specialties, and a flavorful build-your-own pasta. Guests appreciate the generous portions and attentive, personable staff who enhance celebrations and casual dinners alike. However, inconsistent service remains a concern—occasional delays, missing items, and lack of responsiveness have led to disappointment for some, particularly on busy nights. While the food is often praised, a few have noted occasional blandness or issues with drink quality. Overall, it’s a charming spot worth trying, but expect some variability in service and timing.

They should take Carbonara off their menu since they don’t know how to make it. The garlic flavor overpowered everything. Who uses Garlic in Carbonara? It was so thick like they used cream instead of the traditional ingredients. The Marinara sauce tasted chemical-like. The mussels were good, but could tell they forced spoiled ones to open which is not acceptable. We barely at half the portion and threw out the rest, will not be eating here again.
Came here for a girls trip. Amazing food, great service, and wonderful environment! We were from out of town so this was amazing for us. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Build Your Own Pasta, Calamari, Stuffed Mushrooms
It has soo many good reviews so my hopes are we’re high, maybe too high? Why even serve the bread at this point, so hard. Cesar salad was my favorite thing of everything we ordered. Maybe we got them on an off day. Price per person: $100+ Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

As long time patrons of Cucina Bella, we had high expectations for my daughter’s bridal shower, which were far surpassed. We had 56 guests; the restaurant was closed so we used the entire dining room and bar area. The exposed brick walled room has such character and warmth; we added only a few table centerpieces and candles. The delicious food was served family style and each table had plenty (we took leftovers home)! It was high quality, very fresh, and all dishes were served at the correct temperatures. Our menu included bruschetta, grilled calamari, house salad, penne marinara, gnocchi with vodka sauce, chicken Francese and tiramisu. This penne marinara is a flavorful departure from a typical mostaccioli dish. My daughter’s favorite is the gnocchi with vodka the gnocchi were pillow soft and the sauce perfectly robust. The tasty chicken was tender and savory. Can’t tell you how many guests said they literally wanted to “drink all of the sauces”! They raved about the scrumptious food, mimosa bar, bloody Marys, ambience and service and they are still talking about it! Kim and Lindsey were amazing and did not miss a beat in providing top notch service for the large group. I have no idea how they did it all and did it so well all in good cheer! Erin is a terrific event coordinator, very responsive, thorough and professional, offering suggestions and lots of patience! High praise to the kitchen staff as well. All helped to create a most memorable experience for us. Thank you!
