Yanni's offers a vibrant dining experience characterized by exceptional service and a diverse menu that delights the palate. Guests rave about the fresh, expertly prepared dishes, like the juicy chicken souvlaki, Parmesan-encrusted sole, and the divine Greek rack of lamb. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff enhance every visit, while the owner’s commitment to revitalizing the restaurant is evident. Despite a few minor hiccups regarding pet policies, the overall sentiment remains positive. With consistently good food, reasonable prices, and an evolving menu, Yanni's surely stands out as a must-visit destination in Nob Hill.
Since I know how to order for our family-style meal, my parents let me take charge. For the three of us, we ordered baked feta, a meze platter (which was meant for two, not four), and pastitsio. The bread served at the table was fantastic, especially paired with olive oil—I just wish it came with the baked feta! The pita was tasty too, although it was a bit tough for scooping up the sauce. I was really impressed by the baked feta, and while the meze platter was decent, I think next time I'll just order the grape leaves with tzatziki since they pair perfectly together. The pastitsio was good and quite filling, balanced well with the béchamel, making it feel lighter. It was just enough for us to enjoy a late lunch without needing dinner afterward. I do wish they had a wider selection of Greek wines available; I tried a white wine from Crete, which was okay. I hope the owner sees the message I drew on the tablecloth—if not, here's hoping they receive it!
We grabbed take out here tonight (this spot was recommended in all our guidebooks while visiting Albuquerque for the first time, and the food was exceptional! I'm Italian by heritage and grew up eating stuffed artichokes my father made from the recipe his father made for him, and Yanni's jumbo whole artichoke appetizer was the first I've ever had that was better than the ones I make! (Thank goodness we ordered two! . It was lemony garlicky buttery heaven. Made my day. The spanakopita was also incredibly crisp and stuffed to the max with spinach. The dolmas were delicious. Truly my only regret is that we couldn't stay to try the wine!
Last weekend, we enjoyed dinner at Yanni's. It had been some time since our last visit, as the meals had previously been just average. However, this time we tried the parmesan-encrusted sole and the chicken souvlaki. The chicken was incredibly juicy, and the sole was fresh with a light, crispy coating. The sautéed vegetables were surprisingly crunchy instead of mushy, seasoned with a delightful and unique blend of herbs. And of course, no dinner would be complete without baklava, which turned out to be the best we’ve had in months. It was a fantastic meal, and we definitely plan to return.
We visited Yannis to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a great experience initially, thanks to the excellent service from John. The food was also delightful. However, as we were about to order dessert and coffee, a group arrived with a dog and seated it at the table next to us. The dog was placed on a chair and put its head and paws on the table. Shortly after, another dog entered and they began barking, which disrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the dining room. At that point, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, the server mentioned he had no control over the situation. We would have given a rating of 5, but we were uncomfortable with dogs being allowed at the table and their barking echoing throughout the space. Consequently, we won’t be returning to Yannis. Are non-service animals permitted in public restaurant dining areas?
Holy delicious, Batman! These people know how to cook and season their food. We got carry out and when we called to make the order, the woman who answered was friendly and professional, and she knew off the top of her head whether the item I wanted (lamb souvlaki) was gluten-free (it was), but also made a notation in the order so the kitchen would know. The order was going to be ready quickly, and she discovered shortly after the order was placed that they needed to sub chicken for lamb, and she called back right away to let me know. The order was ready when promised, and both my chicken souvlaki and my fiancé 's rack of lamb were DELICIOUS! It was a great experience, and we will be back!
