Range Cafe - Albuquerque
Range Cafe
Description
The Range on Rio Grande offers a mixed dining experience, boasting a convenient location and a diverse menu. While some patrons rave about standout dishes like shrimp and grits, praises for the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere emerge as highlights. However, issues like inconsistent service, excessive green chile in numerous dishes, and lackluster desserts detract from the overall enjoyment. Many feedback focus on the need for improved portion sizes and more reliable offerings, particularly breakfast. While some regulars remain loyal, others express hesitance in returning, highlighting the restaurant's fluctuations since the pandemic began. A venue worth exploring with tempered expectations.

We really enjoy the food here and would eat here way more often if the service was better. We tried to go yesterday evening and after waiting 10 min just to be greeted by the hostess we were told it was going to be a 20 min wait for a party of 7 due to being short staffed. We went elsewhere.
I was very disappointed to find out that they no longer are serving all day breakfast. That was my favorite and now the menu has become very limited.
If you haven't been to the Range Cafe, you're missing out on a fantastic meal. Make sure to come hungry!
We used to like this place. Today I ordered sweet red chile chicken wings and without a doubt, they are the worst I've ever eaten. Took home 1/2 order and after eating another, I will toss them in the garbage. Very tough. Also, we had to beg for a spoon because we don't want to stir our coffee with plastic sticks. This is a second recent visit and likely we won't be back as the quality of the food has diminished. Service was pretty good, but we heard the owner spends most of his time in California, so maybe the increased prices and diminished quality are supporting high California rates of living. Sorry.
