We had dinner at The Artichoke cafe in Albuquerque en route from skiing at Taos back home to New Jersey. What a wonderful delight! Service is so warm, personable and efficient. Our waiter described the dishes perfectly, recommended choices, and addedthe delightfully fun touch to the overall experience! Thank you, Sam! Food is scrumptious. Every dish is a perfect symphony offlavors. Cream of mushroom soup is a delicate blend of earthy mushroom tastes in a smooth base. Duck breast bypassed my favoriteone at a Hudson valley restaurant near CIA (Culinary institute of America) the spice rub on the skin adds a flavorful burst. And the lamb ragout is perfect exploding with flavors and textures, with a bit of heat and a cool touch of whipped ricotta. And the orange cardamom creme brûlée is a perfect finish to any meal!

This place has phenomenal food. Definitely the best I have had in Albuquerque. The dining experience was amazing from the service to the flavors on the plate. The French onion soup was the best I?ve ever had. The mushroom ragout was impressive. Mydining partner ordered the steak and it was cooked perfectly. We also had great cocktails and wine. I would recommend thisrestaurant to everyone!

Overall, a very good experience! The bread is made in the house and very tasty but I?d like to see it served warm. The beet salad was OK, but to me it could use a little pop, like balsamic vinegar or blue cheese; it was too bland to enjoy. But theshrimp and grits and pasta were excellent and the sautéed and oven-baked mushrooms were possibly the best I?ve ever had in mylife; seasoned to perfection! I?d definitely go back for more!
