Great restaurant, the food is really good. Its relatively quiet here compared to other places nearby but dont let that put you off. Try the Sangria, really good!!

My family and I have been traveling around the island for the past 10 days, and we 've had positive experiences at every restaurant we 've visited, both in tourist areas and more local spots. Unfortunately, this was the first place where we felt genuinely unwelcome. We visited for lunch with our two young children, aged 2 and 4. When we arrived, we were the only customers in the restaurant, making the level of hostility and scrutiny throughout the meal even more surprising. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was noticeably unfriendly. We were seated and immediately asked what drinks we wanted before receiving any menus. My husband ordered a beer, and when it arrived, it came with a bottle of water that we had not requested. Since our children already had their own water, I politely declined it. The hostess responded by saying the water was for me, not the children, and when I again declined, she took it away while visibly shaking her head in disapproval. At that point, we already felt uncomfortable, but with two hungry children, we decided to stay. We ordered tapas for ourselves and two children 's meals. Since we had never received a drink menu, I asked whether they could make a strawberry daiquiri without alcohol, as I am pregnant. I was initially told that without alcohol it could not be made, so I simply replied, No worries, gracias. A short time later, she returned and said it was possible after all, so I thanked her and ordered one. The mocktail that eventually arrived was disappointing. Essentially watered-down strawberry juice with large chunks of ice. I would have been perfectly happy if the restaurant had simply said they didn 't offer that drink. The most uncomfortable part of the experience was the constant commentary and corrections. When my husband cut our 4-year-old 's burger in half so our younger child could share some, the hostess told him he was not allowed to have the kids ' meal. Later, when we asked for the bill, she refused to bring it, stating that our son was still finishing the last few sips of his drink. The food was average, and the prices were high for the quality of what was served. The service was surprisingly rude and controlling throughout the meal. We remained polite and respectful, said please and thank you throughout our visit, yet never felt welcome. Unfortunately, this is not a restaurant we would return to or recommend.

A local, friendly and delicious restaurant. Simple Menorcan home cooking at its best. Reasonable prices and delicious food with a friendly smile and professional service. I can't recommend Compostela enough!
