Was 荒川順 at あらしだ a mag?
I visited this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday. It is truly a hidden gem in an old traditional house with over 100 years of history. The staff were very kind and attentive, explaining the dishes to us in a thoughtful manner. The price was quite reasonable for a kaiseki meal, and we enjoyed the delicious and filling dishes. We are considering making a reservation for future celebrations. Thank you for the... View all feedback.
This restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a traditional Japanese house style. The location is a bit hard to find... We had to navigate through narrow streets which made it a bit nerve-wracking, haha. Inside the restaurant, there is a large hall with many tables lined up closely together. There are no partitions between the tables. We were lucky to sit at a corner table this time, but I might have felt uneasy if we were in the middle. The food was delicious with a variety of dishes and gentle flavors. The presentation was also beautiful, making it enjoyable to look at. The service was excellent with two friendly female staff members taking care of us. It has been a while since I received such pleasant service like this. I had a very comfortable and enjoyable time.
I was looking for a place for lunch and came across it on a map, so I decided to give it a try! I was a bit nervous navigating the narrow streets, but I arrived safely. There was a tall, old sign in front of the restaurant, so I found it easily. I hesitated about the 1,600 yen omakase set, but once the dishes came out, I was convinced. The dishes were lightly seasoned to bring out the flavors of the ingredients, and everything was delicious. The menu changes depending on the season. There are regular tatami seating and sunken kotatsu seating, which can accommodate up to four people. We used the sunken kotatsu seating this time, and it would have been nice to have a heater at our feet because they can get cold in the winter. The restrooms are located on the opposite side of the sunken kotatsu seating, with one for men and one for women. The doors are made of old wood, so you need to pull them a bit harder. Inside, there are toilets with bidets. The handwashing area is shared, but there are hand sanitizers, paper towels, and small towels provided, so it felt clean and hygienic.
