This hot spring is one of Japan's top three beauty springs and contains sulfur, sodium-chloride, and salt. The water temperature is 73.2℃ with a pH of 7.4 and 13.3g of dissolved substances. The hot spring is colorless and transparent with a strong salty, oily, and sulfur smell. The indoor and outdoor baths use the hot spring water without the smell of chlorine. The outdoor bath has a stronger smell. The sauna and cold water bath are also located outdoors and at a comfortable temperature. You can purchase tickets for 500 yen which includes access to the hot spring and a bathing facility using hot spring water. Bathing suits are required in the bathing facility. Facilities include a walking bath, jacuzzi, electric bath, and strong bath which are spacious and comfortable. The on-site store sells local specialties such as "hot spring bread" and large-sized deli buns. The parking lot is spacious with riverside views and a park for leisure activities.
Review of a car camping spot. It was a very good place. The park road along the Kire River from the Michi-no-Eki was pleasant. It was nice to enjoy rice and salt-grilled fish at the ayu restaurant while enjoying the peaceful scenery outdoors. The direct sales area of the Michi-no-Eki is well stocked, similar to a large Michi-no-Eki. The dining area tends to close relatively early (everything is closed by 18:00), so it might be a good idea to buy a bento box in advance here. The bath facilities are open until 21:30, which is nice for late-night visitors. Plus, the price for adults is cheap at 500 yen. You can enjoy both well-equipped facilities and peaceful scenery, and it's understandable that it gets crowded during the day. Although it can get very crowded during the day, there are parking spots available around 16:00, so it's a good idea to aim for that time.
When I visited Roadside Station Kitsuregawa, they were holding a Yosakoi dance event. It seemed to be a local team performing. Roadside Station Kitsuregawa is a hot spring spa that boasts high-quality sodium chloride springs, chosen as one of Japan's top three beautiful skin baths. At Roadside Station Kitsuregawa Hot Springs & Spa House, there are indoor baths, outdoor baths, saunas, cold baths, and separate baths for men and women called "Aragawa no Yu" and "Uchikawa no Yu," as well as a spa house where you can wear swimsuits. It was less crowded than I expected. I bought some fox eggs and there was also a food truck selling unique deli bread from Hot Spring Bakery. They all looked delicious, but I decided not to buy any since I couldn't eat them right away. If you're cycling through the area, it might be a perfect stop for a break.
