Demi - Minneapolis
Demi
Description
Demi offers a refined dining experience that combines excellent food, friendly service, and a captivating ambiance. While most patrons rave about the meticulously crafted dishes and the impressive tasting menu, recent visits have highlighted some inconsistency, particularly in food flavor and portion satisfaction. The drink pairings elevate the meal, albeit at a premium price. With a cozy setting ideal for intimate dinners, Demi is best suited for special occasions. Reservations are necessary, and be prepared for a significant dining time and additional automatic gratuity. Overall, Demi remains a top-tier destination for fine dining in the city.

We went here for our birthdays, and felt very spoiled. It was exciting to know what dish would be next. There were so many favorites that I wish I had more of. We had the fall menu, and loved the pasta, fish, bison, and their main desserts. Service was great and they were knowledgeable about all the dishes and ingredients. It's a tiny restaurant and pretty amazing they can cook all that amazing food in that small kitchen. We also enjoyed the front view of all the chefs preparing our food. If I had to say one bad thing about this place, then it was the birthday cake they served us. It was a nice gesture and it wasn’t expected, but they really didn’t have to (nor should’ve served it). The reason is because the cake tasted like a leftover cake that nobody wanted from Cub Foods. Hey, Cubs is my everyday bakery, but it was such a drastic difference/disappointment from the 5* meal we just got served. I wouldn’t serve that cake at all. We were happy without it. They also gave each of us a box of treats to take home. Other than the bday cake disappointment, we would definitely come here again for special occasions. Dietary restrictions: They were very good providing tasty alternatives with a nut allergy. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
I don’t recommend the wine pairing unless you are used to heavy drinking it is too much alcohol, you need to be adventurous for the menu Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We ordered the 11-course tasting menu, but I only enjoyed three of the courses. Many of the dishes were overly salty, and overall, the food did not impress. By the end of the meal, I did feel full, but it wasn't a satisfying fullness. Be prepared to spend about 2.5 hours there. The staff were friendly and the service was good; however, the drinks were quite pricey, ranging from $18 to $25 per cocktail. Would I return? I think not. Also, be aware that a 21% automatic gratuity is added to your bill. **Service:** Dine-in **Meal type:** Dinner **Price per person:** $100+ **Food:** 3/5 **Service:** 5/5 **Atmosphere:** 3/5 **Parking:** Somewhat difficult to find parking (Paid parking lot, Paid street parking)
The tasting menu at Demi is undoubtedly a worthwhile splurge for a special occasion. My wife couldn't stop saying "wow" throughout the meal—far more times than I could keep track of. I would gladly look for another special occasion to return. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch as well. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
