Well run spot for coffee, breakfast or a glass of wine at South Melbourne market. One of our local spots to watch the world go by. Good selection of fresh produce and a well run establishment ????
I visited this restaurant on a Sunday before going to the market with a friend to have an authentic Melbourne experience. We both ordered coffees, which were served quickly and were quite good. I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs and found the toast slightly overcooked on the edges, but the portion of avocado was generous and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. The meal was filling and tasty, but a bit expensive for my liking. My friend enjoyed her open-face sandwich. The decor was charming, with plenty of outdoor seating, and the atmosphere was inviting. The restaurant was bustling when we visited, which was nice to see. I would consider returning, but I also want to explore the many other cafes in the area.
My coffee tastes alright. But the Bastia should have tried abit harder in the art. The shop was busy at the time I when . Maybe because it’s weekday.
The prices were good and the Hendricks coffee well worth the effort. I had a roast chicken toasted sandwich. It came with lettuce, avocado, tomato and some creamy spread. It looked strange, but was very edible. The service was good and I was offered water as soon as I sat down. There were plenty of seats outside as well as inside. I found a quiet corner out of the way and was undisturbed.
