Ko Stop - Berkeley
Ko Stop
Description
Nestled in Sather Lane, this new restaurant has garnered mixed reactions from diners. While many rave about the delicious, crispy Korean fried chicken—particularly the soy chili garlic flavor—others have encountered issues such as food quality and service. Some patrons noted underwhelming sides, cold fries, and a lack of communication from staff, leading to dissatisfaction. Despite these setbacks, the generous portion sizes and reasonable prices have won over several guests. As the restaurant navigates early challenges, it holds potential for improvement and a strong reputation in the ever-popular realm of Korean cuisine.

That said, the food was enjoyable! We ordered the signature three-flavor fried chicken combo for just $28.99, which was a generous portion. The combo included original, sweet and spicy, and soy chili garlic chicken, along with fries and rice (the sides may vary). The sweet and spicy flavor definitely overpowered the others, and I’ll probably order it again if I come back. The original flavor was a bit bland, while the soy chili garlic was tasty. Unfortunately, the fries were cold when they arrived, but they still had a great taste. I want to give this place some leeway since there were only two cooks and one server on duty. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal, and my friend and I couldn't even finish all of it!
A new restaurant that recently opened up in Sather Lane! There is a decent amount of indoor seating space and when I went around 11:30 there was no wait. While the food took a while to come out, it was delicious. We shared a medium sized fried chicken plate with rice and radish sides which are free to add on and it was enough food to feed 2 people.
